About the Company:
We are delighted to be partnering with one of Australia's leading retailers to appoint a Payroll Project Implementation Manager on a fixed term contract to their team.
This business is a large and expanding retailer with well-known brands across Australia and overseas.
About the Role:
- Lead the end-to-end implementation of a new payroll system, working closely with the internal stakeholders to deliver project milestones on time and to a high standard.
- Design and configure payroll settings in the new system including awards, pay classifications, allowances, and entitlements in order to to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Identify, cleanse, and map data to resolve discrepancies and ensure consistency and integrity across systems.
- Partner with key stakeholders across Payroll, HR, Operations, IT, and Finance to gather requirements, provide updates, and drive adoption of new processes.
- Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), create training materials, and facilitate onboarding to ensure a seamless rollout and user experience.
- Provide post-implementation support, manage vendor relationships, and drive continuous system improvements to optimise compliance and performance.
Skills and Experience
- Demonstrated success in the end-to-end implementation of a new payroll system, including modules such as payroll, onboarding, and workforce planning.
- Experience supporting workforce management or payroll projects across a dispersed, shift-based workforce is highly regarded
- Strong background in managing data integration and alignment between HRIS platforms and payroll systems
- In-depth, hands-on experience configuring awards, pay rules, loadings, and entitlements in a new system to meet compliance and operational needs
- Experience in payroll operations within a medium-to-large organisation, preferably in retail, hospitality, or a multi-site environment
