About us

Destination Central West NSW (DNCW) is one of seven Destination Networks (DN’s) responsible for delivering on the NSW Government’s Visitor Economy Strategy 2030. The DNCW region encompasses twelve local government areas: Lachlan, Parkes, Forbes, Cowra, Weddin, Orange, Blayney, Cabonne, Mid-Western Bathurst, Oberon and Lithgow.

DNCW’s objective is to coordinate tourism related strategies and projects that promote and achieve growth and prominence of the visitor economy across the region and that align with the objectives, strategies and commitments of the NSW Government and in particular Destination NSW (DNSW). This will be achieved in partnership and with support of DNSW and other State and Australian Government agencies; industry and business associations; tourism and allied business operators and local governments throughout the DNCW Region.

About the role

Are you a tourism professional passionate about turning great ideas into market-ready experiences?

Destination Central West (DNCW) is looking for a dynamic and driven Industry Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of innovative tourism products and experiences across the Central West region of NSW.

This role is central to DNCW’s refreshed structure, focused on deepening support for tourism businesses and unlocking new visitor economy opportunities.

One contract position on a 22.5 hr/week basis (3 days Tuesday - Thursday)

Remuneration

Salary $55,000.00 PA

Superannuation Statutory rate – currently 12%

Motor Vehicle Fully maintained motor vehicle including provision for private usage

About you

You’re a dynamic tourism professional with a passion for product development, innovation, and collaboration. You know what makes a tourism experience market-ready and have the skills to bring stakeholders along for the journey, from concept to market.

You bring extensive experience in developing and launching tourism products and experiences, working closely with distribution partners, and building strong pipelines of trade-ready and inbound-ready operators. You have a deep understanding of the visitor economy and the challenges faced by small businesses, and you're skilled at designing and delivering programs that drive real outcomes and industry growth.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the planning and implementation of tourism product and experience development across the Central West region. This includes developing and managing a specialised product and experience development program, an inbound pathway program, an always-on industry support program, and building a connected ecosystem of business support.
