The Role
As the Policy Officer, you will join a dynamic team who manages the Abandoned Mines Team and the Exploration Incentive Scheme. In this role you will contribute to the development and coordination of mining and petroleum policy advice and initiatives with a focus on ensuring security of access to the State's mineral and energy resources is maintained and enabled.
Your key responsibilities include:
Contributing to the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of policy, legislation and guidance material relevant to the mining and petroleum industry. Providing professional and technical advice on plumbing services
Conducting research and analysis on current and emerging issues and provides strategic advice to support policy development and decision-making.
Communicating policy and project information clearly and appropriately to a range of audiences, both verbally and in writing.
Preparing Ministerial correspondence, reports, policy papers, speeches, briefing notes and other departmental correspondence.
Working collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a positive and inclusive workplace culture and supporting shared goals.
