About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team at East Coast Piling & Drilling Qld Pty Ltd. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting functions and assist with a range of responsibilities that will be important for the smooth running of the business.

What you'll be doing

Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.

Monitoring and reconciling bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions.

Weekly payroll processing, including superannuation and entitlements.

Maintaining compliance with ATO obligations, including GST, PAYG and Superannuation.

IAS preparation and lodgments.

Complete BAS, payroll tax and other statutory obligations.

General financial administration and process support to the business owner.

Liaising with external accountants, bank and finance managers.

Maintain MYOB records and provide financial analysis as required.

What we're looking for

Qualification in Accounting, Bookkeeping or Finance (Cert IV, Diploma or Degree Level)

Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping principles, accounting software (such as MYOB), and financial reporting

Solid understanding of GST

Solid understanding of payroll tax

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel

Strong communication skills - written and spoken

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
