Ready to jump start your career as a Mechanical Fitter? MEGT in partnership with Orica Kooragang Island are on the lookout for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual as a 1st Year Mechanical Fitter Apprentice. Start your journey alongside seasoned professionals, learning the trade hands-on. This position is for a start date in January 2025.
Your Responsibilities Include:
- Fitting and machining in the Ammonia and Nitrates plants
- Broad exposure to machining and fitting
- Maintenance and installation tasks like pumps, valves, and machinery
- Plant shutdowns across the site
To be considered for this opportunity ideally you will have:
- Strong attention to detail
- Mechanical and mathematical aptitude
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Safety awareness and long-term career commitment
- Reliability, initiative, and adaptability
- Certificate II in Engineering & White Card (preferred)
- Driver's license and own transport (preferred)
