A leading construction group based in Brisbane CBD with a strong pipeline of commercial and infrastructure projects. The business is well-established and growing, with a high-performing finance team that works closely with project delivery and commercial operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Financial Accountant who wants to broaden their skills beyond traditional reporting and get exposure to a fast-paced, project-driven environment.

The Role:
This role will see you responsible for core financial reporting while also supporting project accounting and compliance. You’ll work closely with finance leadership to ensure accurate and timely reporting across multiple entities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including profit & loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
• Perform general ledger reconciliations and ensure the accuracy of all accounts
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
• Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, and other statutory compliance obligations
• Liaise with external auditors and tax advisors during audits and reviews
• Analyse financial data to deliver insights that support decision-making
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Reconcile bank accounts and oversee accounts payable and receivable functions
• Assist with inventory costing, stock reconciliations, and cost control measures
• Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls
• Contribute financial expertise to ad hoc projects and business initiatives

Your Profile:

• CA/CPA qualification preferred
• Proven experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and tax lodgement
• Previous exposure to construction, engineering, or project-based environments would be ideal
• Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing deadlines
• Proficiency in financial management systems
