Hillarys Yacht Club (HYC) currently has an exciting opportunity for the right candidate to join the Club's Kitchen team in providing exceptional food and service in a stunning location.
We are a fully licensed venue with multiple food and beverage outlets. The venue comprises two restaurants, a casual bar and multiple function rooms. Members can enjoy a delicious meal in the restaurant on the upper level of the Clubhouse taking in the spectacular views of both the Indian Ocean and the stunning Hillarys Harbour or in the ground level Marina Room with outward looking views of the heart of the Club.
We serve the highest quality cuisine with affordable prices and showcase live entertainment, enabling members to bring the whole family to enjoy the Club and dine out more frequently during the week.
The Club also hosts a variety of functions from conferences to weddings.
The Role
HYC is searching for a CDP/Sous Chef to work in a small and dynamic team.
Reporting to the Head Chef, the candidate will be required to work in all outlets of the Club and be required to both work alone and also in a team while ensuring food standards are met, along with meeting all OHS and Hygiene requirements. Applicants must have the ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, professional Kitchen and will need a strong work ethic and have the ability to multitask.
The work is challenging and varied and the role has the ability to develop personal knowledge and experience. The successful candidate must also have a passion to deliver consistent, quality food to our Members and guests using local and fresh produce.
Qualifications & Experience
· Flexibility is required with the ability to work weekends, late nights, early mornings
· Ability to train and develop junior staff
· Must have the right to work in Australia
· At least a Diploma level in Commercial Cookery/Hospitality" or equivalent to an Australian Qualification.
· Food Safety Supervisors Certificate
· 2 years’ experience in a similar role commercial Kitchen
· Food Safety Supervisor requirements
· COVID19 Hygiene certificate and HACCP knowledge
