As an Engineering Manager in Structures, you will lead and participate in activities which may include design review, asset monitoring and assessment, structural and material assurance activities and technical governance. You will draw on your comprehensive civil/structural engineering experience to ensure departmental structural assets are managed over their full life cycle and optimised to deliver value for-money, robust and fit-for-purpose infrastructure. This role will involve leading the development of improvements relating to construction, durability and rehabilitation of structures including quality assurance and review work. In this way you will also contribute to the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP) and other funded delivery programs. You will demonstrate the ability to lead, strategically analyse and deliver on a range of engineering activities. You will be responsible for taking a lead on technical and sustainable aspects of construction and prefabrication. You will manage a small team involved in durability design and review, inspection of precast concrete and fabricated steelworks, advice on repair and rehabilitation solutions, and development of technical documentation.
To perform the role effectively you will demonstrate proactive and responsive leadership and team management as well as interface regularly with various colleagues, clients and stakeholders both within TMR, other government agencies and private industry. You will employ high level communication and project / program management skills as well as sound negotiation and organisational skills.
You will be encouraged to broaden and deepen your technical, functional and leadership skills.
