They're looking for a passionate and experienced Head of Learning and Commercial Strategy join their collaborative team to drive the delivery of a new three-year learning strategy aligned with sector needs.
ABOUT THE ROLE
A newly created and strategic position, the Head of Learning and Commercial Strategy will lead a team to deliver impactful, sector-wide capability initiatives. This role is responsible for executing a new three-year learning strategy, with a focus on commercialising learning, partnering with leading learning organisations, and delivering high-value outcomes through a sophisticated digital learning platform. With full oversight of team leadership, product design, marketing, partnerships and revenue, this is a unique opportunity to shape how the aged care sector accesses and experiences learning.
DUTIES
- Lead the L&PD team across instructional design, learning platforms, content delivery and signature programs
- Execute a commercially driven learning strategy aligned to national aged care reform and workforce priorities
- Oversee design, delivery and evaluation of sector-facing learning products - not for internal staff, but for national provider audiences
- Manage strategic partnerships and referral arrangements with external learning providers
- Negotiate high-value commercial agreements that support sector learning needs
- Guide the team in creating scalable, high-quality learning using structural design principles and measurable outcomes
- Implement and optimise a sophisticated LMS or LXP to deliver digital and blended learning
- Provide oversight of learning product positioning and marketing — establishing the organisation as the “go-to” provider for aged care learning
- Collaborate internally to ensure alignment between learning products and other sector support services
- Use data insights to track impact, demonstrate value and inform future development
- Identify funding and revenue opportunities to grow the learning portfolio
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Tertiary qualifications in business, learning, education or product development
- Proven experience leading high-performing learning teams across design, delivery and digital creation
- Expertise in implementing and managing learning platforms (LMS or LXP)
- A strong commercial lens - with experience negotiating strategic partnerships, managing budgets, and driving revenue from learning products
- A track record of delivering innovative, market-ready learning initiatives that create measurable impact
- Understanding of learning design principles, digital learning evaluation, and emerging technologies including AI
- Familiarity with the aged care, VET or higher education sectors
- Strategic planning and operational delivery skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills
- Strong digital capability across CRM, CMS, online learning/event platforms and Microsoft Office
- A collaborative mindset and commitment to ethical practice, inclusion and sector reform
- A passion for improving outcomes for older Australians
