About the role

We’re now seeking a talented Head Chef—or an ambitious Senior Sous Chef ready to step up—to lead our kitchen team in the beautiful town of Lyndoch, right in the heart of South Australia’s Barossa Valley.

You’ll be joining a well-established, close-knit kitchen crew known for their strong team spirit, passion for food, and positive culture.

This is a full-time opportunity for a dedicated and creative professional to take the lead in our family-owned restaurant, bringing innovation, leadership, and a high standard of quality to our much-loved venue.

What you'll be doing

As Head Chef, you will:

Design and deliver innovative menus featuring fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients

Lead and manage the kitchen team to ensure smooth, timely, and efficient operations

Uphold exceptional food safety and hygiene standards at all times

Monitor and control food and labour costs to optimise performance and profitability

Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure top-quality produce

Ensure each guest enjoys a memorable dining experience through consistently high-quality food and service

Foster a supportive, positive, and collaborative kitchen culture

What we're looking for

To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Head Chef or in a senior culinary role within a reputable restaurant or hotel

Proven financial management experience within a commercial kitchen, including budgeting, food and labour cost control, and supplier negotiation

Expertise in menu development, kitchen operations, and inventory management

Strong leadership and communication skills to inspire, manage, and mentor your team

Excellent time management and the ability to stay calm and effective under pressure

A genuine passion for local, seasonal produce and creating memorable dining experiences

Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications

A strong commitment to food safety, hygiene, and professional kitchen standards
