Active OOSH is a value driven Outside School Hours Care (OOSH) provider dedicated to creating safe, fun, and engaging environments for school-aged children. We proudly operate 9 services across the Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Hunter Region, supporting local school communities with high-quality care programs. Our team includes over 80 passionate educators and support staff, all committed to delivering excellence in care, positive relationships, and inclusive, child-led programming.

🔹About the Role:
As the People & Culture Manager, you will work as part of our Head Office leadership team to support and strengthen all aspects of the employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to training, retention, wellbeing, and staff morale. You will lead initiatives that promote a positive workplace culture, ensure compliance with employment regulations, and create a supportive environment where our educators can thrive.
🔹Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage recruitment, onboarding, and induction processes across all services
Develop and implement staff training, development, and mentoring programs
Maintain up-to-date staff records and ensure compliance with relevant employment and qualification requirements
Drive staff engagement, wellbeing, and retention strategies
Act as a key contact for staff feedback, concerns, and workplace matters
Support service leaders with performance management, conflict resolution, and team development
Lead internal communication strategies that enhance connection, morale, and recognition
Champion our organisational values and lead by example
🔹About You:
A people-first mindset with a passion for developing and supporting others
Strong understanding of HR practices, staff wellbeing, and employee engagement
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams
Experience in education, community services, or a care-based environment is highly desirable
Qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Education or a related field (or working towards) are preferred
