POSITION PURPOSE:
As a Bookkeeping Lead, you will be working closely with the firm’s Managing Partners to oversee the bookkeeping function for a diverse external client base. You will be responsible for the management and execution of day-to-day bookkeeping activities and supervision of team members undertaking bookkeeping tasks. This role is client-facing and hands-on, requiring both leadership and technical capabilities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage and perform general bookkeeping duties for external clients.
Process and allocate bank transactions and perform bank reconciliations.
Manage payroll processing for clients, ensuring adherence to awards and agreements.
Manage the accounts payable function for clients, ensuring timely and accurate processing and payment of invoices.
Manage the accounts receivable function for clients, ensuring timely and accurate invoice generation and distribution.
Maintenance of the chart of accounts to ensure financial data is accurately presented
Liaise with clients to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial information.
Support BAS and IAS preparation and lodgment.
Supervise and support bookkeeping staff, ensuring high-quality service delivery.
Monitor workflows, delegate responsibilities, and provide guidance to team members.
Work closely with the firm’s co-owners and support operational administrative duties as needed.
Deliver helpful and professional service to all clients and prospects.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE / BACKGROUND:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
Certificate IV in Bookkeeping is preferred but not required.
Experience supervising or mentoring bookkeeping staff is preferred.
Proficiency in Xero (essential); MYOB and other cloud accounting platforms (desirable).
Knowledge of payroll processing, ATO compliance, and superannuation obligations.
Competent in Microsoft Office products.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
High attention to detail and accuracy.

Well-organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
