You're a widely skilled technical generalist, with experience in the world of Managed IT Services Providers (MSPs).

You have intermediate skills in traditional systems infrastructure, desktop and cloud services & you wish to further hone your networking, comms, productivity and infrastructure skills to support and implement complex platforms for some of Australia's leading organisations.

You love working with clients and have a passion for solving IT issues to their conclusion. You are seeking employment in a progressive company where your desire to improve processes through automation or other “time savings” is appreciated and actioned by senior management.

C4X Technology Architects is a Managed Services Provider with a long-term customer base that values close partnerships with our clients. Our team is an exceptional collection of engineers and business owners that have delivered complex projects in Corporate and Education contexts.

What we need:

Due to our growth, we need a new cross-disciplined & customer-focused engineer in Sydney. This role is intended to extend C4X's ability to build and support complex network infrastructure for customers and internally.

Based on existing team members, we expect a roughly 50:50 split in Escalation tickets from our helpdesk and project service delivery.

The selected candidate will work closely with our Solution Architects on projects such as:

Multi-site SDWAN deployments carrying voice & data

AWS | Azure and Private Cloud services in the IaaS and PaaS space

Automation and data analytics

Complex networks supporting critical physical infrastructure (CCTV, BMS, Access Control, Voice, Data)

Highly resilient virtualisation infrastructure in our private cloud

Cloud VoIP telephony

Medium and large-scale modern Modern Management projects, migrating organisations to utilise Microsoft 365 technologies and platforms.

The Microsoft stack - Active Directory, Exchange Server, etc

Additionally, you must reside in (or close to) Sydney to provide onsite project & managed services to our clients when required.

Responsibilities:

Take and progress client technical requests through our Service Desk.

Build and support internal client networks and systems over the full infrastructure stack: Network, Server, Storage & Virtualisation, Modern Management, Comms.

Technologies:

This role will work across the following technologies, and we would expect applicants to be familiar with multiple (but not all) of these. The priority technologies are in bold and would be beneficial to your candidacy:

Voice (SIP Trunks, Virtual PBX, Handsets, Softphones)

OS (Windows desktop, Windows Server, Linux, macOS) + common application stacks on them (Active Directory, RemoteApp, etc)

Microsoft Azure AD, Office 365 (Exchange Online, Intune/Endpoint Manager, SharePoint/Teams)

SDN-lite networking such as UniFi, HP Aruba Instant-On or Meraki

WAN Services (NBN, Fibre, Fixed Wireless, 4G/5G)

Core & Access Networks

Remote Access (IPSEC, OpenVPN, Wireguard)

Scripting (bash, PowerShell)

Knowledge of SQL/other databases

Physical Security (CCTV, Access Control)

Storage (NAS, SAN, SDS)

Backup (Local, Cloud)

Public Cloud (AWS, Azure)

Security (Firewalls, IDS/IPS)

Monitoring (SNMP, Netflow)

Collaboration (Teams/Zoom Rooms)

Routing (OSPF/iBGP/eBGP)

Virtualisation (VMWARE, Hyper-V)

Since this role is a hybrid role of support and projects at a Level 2 seniority level, we would expect that the candidate has some experience as a site/field tech.

Requirements:

Experience implementing, and supporting solutions across multiple of the above technologies

Ability to identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and select solutions

Attention to detail

Background in MSPs required

Appropriate certifications would be preferable but is not required

Driver’s licence & own car. We provide a fuel card and e-tag.
