- Approx. $55-$60 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
- Assignment duration is up to 6 months. Immediate Start
- Melbourne CBD location/Working from Home Arrangement
About the role
Statutory Authority requires a People Policy & Strategy Adviser to join them on contract assignment for a duration of up to a period of 6 months based in Melbourne CBD. As the People Policy & Strategy Adviser, you will support the delivery of two foundational projects for workforce planning and management during major events and business as usual operations.
Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Principal Strategy & Policy Adviser your key tasks and responsibilities will include:
• Supporting the development of a strategic workforce plan
- o Coordinate stakeholder workshops (agenda, invitations, bookings)
- o Support workshop design and required material
- o Liaise with key stakeholders to obtain required data and information on workforce, external environment etc
- o Support drafting of the strategic workforce plan and operational workforce planning manager toolkit
• Supporting the people policy uplift program
- o Support drafting of policy position papers for Executive endorsement
- o Support drafting of the organisation’s people policies
- o Liaise with the People Services Team to gather all related upstream and downstream artefacts (procedures, guidance docs etc)
- o Draft amends to upstream & downstream artefacts to support policy implementation
- o Liaise with the communications team to arrange people leader briefings and staff communications for new policies and policy & procedure changes
• Maintain project plans and fortnightly status reports for the above two key projects
Key Selection Criteria
The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:
- Demonstrated experience in workforce policies (drafting, interpreting) and/or workforce planning preferred.
- Strong organisational and structured skills to keep projects in check and manage the volumes of associated documents
- Strong analytical skills - interpretation of legislation and policies
- Sound writing skills - first draft of policies, guidelines and executive reports

Casual Loading
Please note for all Australian based contract and temporary roles only, the pay rate is inclusive of mandatory 25% casual loading. This excludes permanent and fixed term roles.
