About the role

This is a casual Disability Support Worker role within the Sisters Nursing Services' organization, based in Lewiston, SA 5501. The Disability Support Worker is responsible for providing high-quality, compassionate care and support to individuals with disabilities, helping them to live independently and engage with their local community.

The shift is 0930-1130, Monday to Saturday, preferred female only and must be ok with animals. ASAP start required.

What you'll be doing

Assisting clients with personal care.

Providing domestic assistance, such as cleaning, laundry and light housekeeping

Accompanying and supporting clients to attend appointments, run errands and participate in social and recreational activities

Promoting client independence, dignity and choice in all aspects of daily living

Documenting client progress, incidents and other relevant information in accordance with organizational policies

Collaborating with the broader care team to ensure the delivery of coordinated, holistic support

What we're looking for

A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent qualification

Previous experience providing direct care and support to individuals with disabilities

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients

Patience, empathy and a genuine desire to improve the lives of individuals with disabilities

A compassionate, client-centred approach and a commitment to promoting client independence and choice

Resilience and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations

A valid driver's licence and access to reliable transportation
