SuperEd is on a mission to deliver affordable, innovative, and market-leading retirement services to Australia's premier financial institutions. Through our retail brand, Retirement Essentials, we empower people to achieve their best possible life after work. We're a fast-growing, tech-driven company with a huge heart, and we're looking for a financial leader to help steer our next phase of growth.

This isn't your average finance role. We're seeking a dynamic, hands-on Finance & Operations Manager to be the strategic right hand to our CEO and leadership team. You will be the architect of our financial discipline, the driver of our commercial insights, and the operational backbone of our success. If you're an ambitious, self-motivated problem-solver who wants to make a tangible impact, this is your opportunity.

What You'll Bring to the Table (The Ideal Candidate):

A Strategic Thinker & Doer: You're a dynamic, action-oriented problem solver who can see the big picture and isn't afraid to dive into the details to get the job done.

A Master of Your Craft: You possess exceptional analytical and financial modelling skills, with a meticulous eye for detail. Accuracy and efficiency are in your DNA.

A Proactive & Autonomous Leader: You are a self-starter who thrives on independence and takes ownership of your outcomes. You have a "can-do" attitude and are always looking for ways to improve processes.

A Digital Specialist: You're highly proficient and comfortable in a modern tech stack, particularly with Xero and Google Sheets.

An Exceptional Communicator: You can clearly articulate financial insights and build strong relationships with management and the broader team.

Ambitious & Growth-Oriented: You're excited by the challenge of a growing business and eager to contribute to and share in its success.

Remote-Ready: You are comfortable and productive working from home and collaborating with a diverse, remote-first team.

A Glimpse of Your Day-to-Day (Key Responsibilities):

Strategic Partnership: Work closely with the CEO and management team to drive financial strategy, enhance management reporting, and embed strong financial discipline across the business.

Financial Stewardship: Own the full spectrum of our finances. This includes leading the month-end close, preparing insightful monthly financial and KPI reports, and creating dashboards that tell the story behind the numbers.

Commercial Insights: Take the lead on budgeting, forecasting, 3-way planning, and cash flow analysis to provide critical commercial insights that guide our decision-making.

Operational Excellence: Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping and management accounting using Xero, including journals, payroll, reconciliations, invoicing, and weekly payment runs. You'll constantly seek out opportunities for process improvements.

Compliance & Governance: Prepare Business Activity Statements (BAS), GST, manage other statutory lodgments, and lead the preparation for our annual financial audit and ISO27001 security audits.

Why You'll Love Working With Us (The Benefits):

Share in Our Success: We offer a competitive salary and the potential to earn equity in the company. Your contribution directly fuels our growth, and you'll be rewarded for it.

True Flexibility: Enjoy the freedom and autonomy of a fully remote role. We trust you to manage your schedule and deliver outstanding results from wherever you work best.

Make a Real Impact: See your work directly influence the company's direction and success. You'll be a critical part of a small, high-performing team on a mission to help Australians.

A Culture of Trust & Innovation: Join a forward-thinking team that values collaboration, independence, and fresh ideas.

Your Credentials:

Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

CPA/CA qualification is essential.

At least 5 years of relevant experience.

Expert-level proficiency in Xero and Google Sheets.

Ready to build the future of retirement with us?

If you're a passionate financial leader ready to hit the ground running and make your mark, we want to hear from you.
