Lifebridge, based in Northern NSW, is a not-for-profit community services provider supporting people living with disability and older Australians to lead meaningful and independent lives. We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead our finance team, ensure robust financial governance, and support our mission through strategic financial management and operational leadership.
The Position
Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Finance Manager plays a pivotal role in delivering effective financial services, supporting team leaders, and ensuring compliance with legislative and accounting standards. The position leads the Finance Team and oversees financial operations including payroll, accounts, statutory reporting, audits, budgeting, investment strategies, and internal controls. The Finance Manager is a key contributor to strategic decisions and a proactive partner to the operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of timely, accurate and efficient financial services across payroll, accounts, claims, and asset management.
- Prepare internal and external financial reports including monthly accounts, year-end statements and Board reporting.
- Manage relationships with auditors, banks, funding bodies, and external vendors.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, Australian Accounting Standards and corporate governance requirements.
- Develop and implement financial and corporate systems to enhance transparency and performance.
- Provide strategic financial planning, analysis and recommendations to the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer.
- Support operational teams in budgeting, financial reporting, and achieving KPIs.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and exceptional customer service across the finance team.
- Oversee maintenance and contract management functions for the organisation.
Experience and knowledge
- CA or CPA qualification with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, or equivalent experience.
- Proven leadership and team development experience.
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making capabilities.
- Deep knowledge of financial compliance in the disability and aged care sectors.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- High proficiency in accounting and cloud-based financial systems.
- Current NDIS Worker Check and compliance with statutory “Key Personnel” obligations.
