A well established and evolving organisation is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead a high performing team within a dynamic and supportive finance function. This role is ideal for a technically skilled Senior Financial Accountant ready to step up, or a Finance Manager looking to broaden their leadership scope and contribute to meaningful change. Based in Sydney CBD in a collaborative office environment with flexibility to work from home 2 days per week.

The opportunity

This is a hands on leadership role overseeing a small team of experienced accounting staff. While the core focus remains on managing the financial close and ensuring technical compliance, the broader remit includes driving continuous improvement, leading finance projects and enhancing process efficiency.

You'll play a key role in shaping a high performance culture, supporting professional development and contributing to a collaborative finance environment that spans multiple business streams.

The role

Lead and develop a team with a focus on mentoring and performance

Oversee the month end close process and financial reporting

Support compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements (AASB/IFRS)

Drive improvements in processes, systems, and reporting efficiency

Provide financial insight to support business decision-making

Lead or contribute to change initiatives and finance-related projects

The requirements

CA/CPA qualified with a minimum of 5 + years in a senior finance role

Strong technical foundation with the ability to step in when needed

Demonstrated leadership experience, ideally managing multiple direct reports

Proven ability to drive change and deliver process improvements

Collaborative and approachable leadership style

Experience in medium to large organisations
