About the role
As a Website Communications Officer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our digital media presence by contributing to the continual improvement of Council’s website. Your responsibilities will include ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of website content, coordinating website improvement projects, and fostering effective communication with stakeholders to enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and manage content on Council’s website to build its online presence and facilitate proactive communications with residents, the community, and key stakeholders.
Ensure web and PDF content adheres to best practice standards, including readability, SEO integration, and accessibility.
Collaborate with stakeholders to source, edit, and approve content, fostering effective communication and negotiation.
Contribute to the development and implementation of strategies, policies, and procedures that align with Council plans and objectives.
Provide guidance to stakeholders to develop content that enhances the customer experience.
Coordinate content requests and publication schedules to create user-friendly, accurate, and informative content in line with Council’s branding and language guidelines.
Ensure timely and accurate dissemination of Council information across all platforms.
Continuously assess, monitor, and evaluate the website to identify enhancements for future development.
Analyse usage statistics and produce reports to inform communication strategy and direction.
Promote a positive and collaborative culture within the organization through ethical and professional behaviour.
Collaborate with the team, manager, and key stakeholders to achieve business unit goals and Council priorities.
About you
We are looking for a someone who demonstrates:
Relevant qualification and/or experience.
Current Driver’s Licence Class C.
Demonstrated experience in with Content Management System platforms and web development (Drupal or equivalent)
Understanding of SEO and Google Platforms
Practical experience in reporting and analysing web trends, accessibility, readability, and SEO integration.
