We are on the hunt for a compassionate and humorous individual who loves making a difference in someone's life.

Our client is a proud Parramatta Eels supporter (don’t hold it against him) who loves watching the sunrise, listening to cool tunes and starting the day with a smile. With a great sense of humour and a love for light-hearted conversation, he just needs a little help to enable him to get up and out and face the day ahead.

This lovely guy has Motor Neurone Disease with a tracheostomy tube and therefore requires someone experienced in tracheostomy stoma and tube management including cleaning and suctioning or someone who has general Support Worker experience and is willing to learn new skills.

Given he lives alone in his beautiful, brand new high rise apartment he will also require your support in getting up and about, with basic personal support, assistance in general upkeep of his apartment as well as taking him out to medical appointments or to do fun activities in the community.

He is looking for a female support worker who is kind, reliable who enjoys building genuine connections. Someone who can provide both practical support and companionship, with a positive attitude and a sense of fun is also highly valued. The successful Support Worker will need their own vehicle that is easy for someone with mobility challenges to get in and out of.

Support Needs:

Tracheostomy stoma and tube – experience or willingness to learn is essential.

General support with daily living and community access.

Assistance with transport to medical appointments and community activities

Someone who is proactive and is fully present and engaged throughout their shift (not on their phone)

This shift span available shift times include:
Monday - Friday: 9:00am-12:00pm

Additional shifts are available to cover sick and/or annual leave and where adhoc supports are required.

QSSS hourly rates are Weekday $35.66, Evening $38.30, Night $39.33, Saturday $48.65, Sunday $62.62, Public Holidays $76.38 - (sorry, rate not negotiable).

We also support our staff through our EAP service, which offers four free counselling sessions where required, as well as discounted physiotherapy sessions at select practices. Additionally, you will have the assurance of consistency with the clients you support and not be shipped among Clients that you have never met. We provide a comprehensive suite of online learning resources and face-to-face training to support you.

Have experience in Bowel Therapy and Catheter Care (or a willingness to learn)

Have evidence of eligibility and right to work in Australia
