You will enjoy a good work/lifestyle balance; shifts are usually 8 hours long, between 6 am and 6 pm, with Saturday or Sunday work determined by a rotating roster.
What We're Looking For:
Expertise in Long Fermentation & French Artisan Techniques: We’re seeking a Chef or Pastry Chef with a deep understanding of sourdough fermentation and French-style cooking and baking.
Commitment to Nutrition: You are passionate about creating food from scratch with natural, unprocessed ingredients and nutritional integrity.

Responsibilities:
Planning, preparing and cooking a broad range of artisan dishes and pastries, including sourdough viennoiseries, cakes, pies, quiches, tarts, sides, and seasonal specials.
Applying long fermentation and French artisan techniques to all baked and cooked products.
Weighing, mixing, kneading, moulding, rolling, and shaping doughs for both pastry and savoury applications.
Preparing sauces, creams, glazes, fillings, compotes, and stocks using traditional methods.
Monitoring the quality of raw and cooked ingredients and finished items to meet Burleigh Baker’s high nutritional and taste standards.
Operating and maintaining a variety of commercial kitchen equipment such as ovens, dough sheeters, mixers, slicing and shaping tools.
Managing stock levels by estimating food and ingredient requirements and ordering accordingly.
Ensuring hygiene, food safety, and workplace health regulations are strictly followed in all kitchen areas.
Supervising or mentoring junior kitchen and bakery staff when needed and contributing positively to the team culture.
Collaborating with the R&D and production teams to trial, improve and document recipes, and develop innovative products that support gut health.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Chef or Pastry Chef, ideally with a focus on French artisan techniques and long fermentation.
Deep knowledge of natural ingredients, whole foods, and nutrition.
Strong attention to detail and dedication to excellence.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a great attitude.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Permanent work rights in Australia.
Availability to work one day of the weekend.
