Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Japanese/Asian Cuisine Chef to join our professional kitchen team. The successful applicant will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting authentic Japanese dishes to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and execute a variety of traditional and contemporary Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, teppanyaki, and seasonal specials.

• Maintain consistent quality and presentation of food according to restaurant standards.

• Manage kitchen operations, including ordering, inventory control, and supervising kitchen staff when necessary.

• Ensure compliance with food hygiene, safety regulations, and occupational health standards.

• Develop new menu items in collaboration with management to enhance the dining experience.

• Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on authentic Japanese cooking techniques.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years experience as a qualified Japanese/Asian Cuisine Chef.

• A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or higher, accredited in Australia, is required.

• Demonstrated knowledge and skills in a range of Japanese/Asian cooking methods and menu creation.

• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards in Australia.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a passion for Japanese/Asian food culture.

• Good communication skills in English.

Salary & Benefits:

• Annual Salary: AUD $76,600 (plus superannuation)
