St John of God Bendigo Hospital is a 122-bed contemporary private hospital located in central Victoria providing high quality acute medical and surgical health care services for people in Bendigo and surrounding areas.
Your role at St John of God Bendigo Hospital
You will work alongside theatre staff, you will be responsible for the decontamination, inspection, packaging, and sterilisation of surgical sets.
We are looking for multiple roles across different levels and hours will be negotiated with successful candidates.
The Position
- Maintain cleaning tools and equipment in good condition.
- Restock cleaning and sterilisation supplies and report of low stock.
- Undertake cleaning, disinfection and sterilization of all reusable medical devices within Main Theatre and Day Surgery units.
- Participation in ongoing training and development to enhance your understanding of instrument cleaning, handling, disinfection and sterilization processes.
- Practice good housekeeping to maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Maintain efficient, standards-based practice to provide quality medical devices for clinical use.
- Perform daily and weekly tests and cleaning as required.
- Keep accurate and thorough documentation.
- Organize repair servicing via MexOps, tagging out as required.
You will have ability to use initiative, demonstrate reliability and thereby require minimal supervision and guidance.
To succeed you will have have understanding of Infection Control principles and practice and
relevant education in sterilising technology is desirable. The ideal candidate will have Cert III/IV in Sterilisation Services (desirable, not mandatory).

- Salary: $38.15 to $42.13 per hour, depending on qualification, (includes casual loading), plus 12% superannuation
