We are currently seeking a compassionate and experienced Mental Health Support Worker to assist an individual NDIS participant in achieving greater independence, emotional wellbeing, and meaningful participation in their daily life.

The successful applicant will work directly with the participant to provide psychosocial support, community access, and assistance with daily routines — all tailored to the participant’s personal goals and NDIS plan.

Key Responsibilities

Provide individualised mental health support in a respectful and empowering manner.

Support the participant with community engagement and social inclusion activities.

Assist with daily living skills and promote routines that encourage independence.

Implement support strategies in line with Positive Behaviour Support Plans (if applicable).

Maintain accurate progress notes and incident reports.

Collaborate with the participant’s allied health professionals, carers, and families.

About You

You are passionate about person-centred mental health support and bring empathy, reliability, and professionalism to your role. You’re adaptable and able to respond to changing client needs with calm and care.

Essential:

Cert III or IV in Mental Health, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent

Experience supporting individuals with psychosocial disabilities or complex mental health needs

Understanding of trauma-informed practice and NDIS principles

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)

Current First Aid & CPR

Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable vehicle

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination

Desirable:

Mental Health First Aid Certification

Lived experience of mental health recovery (for peer roles)

Experience with Behaviour Support Plans or restrictive practice requirements
