The Role
Airborne Surveillance Control and Intelligence Systems Program Office (ASCISPO), located at Royal Australian Air force (RAAF) Base Williamtown in the beautiful Newcastle/Port Stephens region, performs sustainment and major capability upgrades for the Air Force's fleet of E-7A Wedgetail and MC-55 Peregrine aircraft. In this role you will have a critical leadership role working cooperatively with stakeholders across Defence, Defence Industry and international partners supporting the E-7A Wedgetail, you will employ your expert knowledge of asset management and product sustainment to assure Defence capability. Leading a small team of engineering, technical and logistics personnel, you will be responsible for managing sustainment assurance activities including asset availability, high level stakeholder engagement, contractor performance, financial performance, risk management, security compliance, and assurance of future capability.

Defence provides relocation assistance to eligible Australian Public Service (APS) employees required to relocate. Our Ideal Candidate

Our Ideal Candidate will bring:
- Experience leading within aircraft acquisition, sustainment, or other similarly complex environments;
- Knowledge of asset management / product management principles and frameworks;
- Experience leading high performing teams, with strong communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders;
- Highly developed business and commercial acumen, including experience in financial management, risk management, and contractor management;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to achieve optimal use of Defence assets, balancing cost, opportunities and risks against performance.
This position will be required to access US export controlled materiel and therefore applicants will be requested to disclose any dual citizenship with another country during the recruitment process. Dual citizens may be subject to further assessment and appointment to this position will be conditional upon approval to access US controlled export material be in accordance with the United States Arms Export Control Act.
