About the Position

As a Technical Officer in the Clinical Skills laboratories, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, hands-on learning experiences for students. You’ll be responsible for the preparation, maintenance, and smooth operation of clinical skills spaces, working closely with academic and technical staff to support practical teaching sessions.

Key responsibilities include:

· Prepare, maintain, and operate clinical skills laboratories, including equipment setup and in-session support for teaching and assessment activities.

· Manage inventory and consumable ordering and assist with equipment maintenance and procurement.

· Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintain documentation, and contribute to risk management and quality assurance processes.

· Collaborate with academic and technical staff to support curriculum delivery, continuous improvement, and a positive learning environment.

About the Person

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong technical background and a passion for supporting medical and clinical education. You’ll thrive in a fast paced and hands-on environment, working both independently and collaboratively to ensure the smooth operation of clinical skills laboratories.

Key attributes include:

· A qualification in a relevant health, science, or technical field, along with experience in a clinical skills or laboratory setting.

· Practical skills in preparing and maintaining equipment, supporting teaching sessions, and managing inventory and documentation.

· A sound understanding of WHS principles and safe work practices, with a commitment to compliance and continuous improvement.

· Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to contribute positively to a team-focused and student-centred environment.

Salary details

The salary for the position commences at $71,938.46 per annum, plus 12% superannuation.
