About the role
As the Nuclear Medicine Nurse Consultant, you will provide advanced clinical nursing expertise within the specialised field of Nuclear Medicine. Working both autonomously and as a collaborative member of the SA Medical Imaging team, you will partner closely with Nuclear Medicine Medical Officers, Technologists, and Administrative staff to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. Your role will encompass providing expert clinical leadership, consultancy, and support to both inpatient and outpatient services, primarily at the Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH), as well as extending your leadership to other SAMI sites as required.
You will be accountable for maintaining excellence in nursing practice, overseeing the outcomes of nursing care for your patient group, and ensuring professional standards are met across the service. Your responsibilities will also include offering expert advice, delegating care appropriately, and addressing any inconsistencies between clinical practice and policy. Your commitment to leadership, continuous improvement, and multidisciplinary collaboration will be pivotal in achieving optimal outcomes for patients and supporting the ongoing development of nursing within Nuclear Medicine.
About You
You are a registered nurse with advanced clinical expertise and proven leadership skills, ready to lead and support high-quality nursing practice in Nuclear Medicine.
Qualifications & Registration
Registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, holding or eligible to hold a current practising certificate.
Leadership & Teamwork
Effective leadership skills, advanced communication, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities, with experience supervising and developing staff in multidisciplinary teams.
Experience & Change Management
At least three years of post-registration nursing experience, previous experience as a Nurse Consultant, and demonstrated ability to lead change and promote consumer engagement.
Professional Knowledge & Innovation
Comprehensive understanding of nursing legislation, standards, and best practice, with up-to-date knowledge of Nuclear Medicine, its clinical applications, and quality and safety standards.
