About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and passionate Nurse Consultant to support cancer services education across South Australia’s rural regions. This key leadership role focuses on improving cancer care through expert education, clinical guidance, service development, and the integration of best practice nursing. Working within the Rural Support Service, you'll play a vital role in building nursing capability and strengthening cancer care outcomes across local health networks.
How will you contribute
- Provide clinical leadership, education and mentorship to nursing teams delivering cancer care across rural SA.
- Design, implement and evaluate evidence-based education programs to support best practice and professional development.
- Contribute to the development and application of cancer care policies, procedures, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Apply expert clinical knowledge to support staff and services in delivering safe, person-centred cancer care.
Who are we looking for?
- Do you have experience in oncology and a commitment to improving rural cancer care?
- Do you have excellent communication and leadership skills to guide, educate and support nursing teams?
- Do you have a strong understanding of contemporary education methods and clinical best practices?
- Are you able to engage respectfully and appropriately with Aboriginal consumers and a willingness to undertake further cultural training?

The RSS is a business unit in SA Health and provides services throughout regional South Australia to support the six regional local health networks (LHNs). It employs around 260 people who work in 37 regional, rural and remote SA locations, or in the RSS’s three Adelaide offices.
