Your role

The Litigation Co-ordinator will co-ordinate and provide expert advice to Crown Law staff and clients in relation to the:

  • acceptance of service requirements and client standing arrangements within Crown Law
  • management and processing of originating material served on the State of Queensland
  • compliance with court requirements and client Service Level Agreements
  • adherence to departmental and Crown Law procedures and policies.

Your key responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Deputy Crown Solicitor manage complex queries from Crown Law clients, members of the public and other stakeholders.
  • Review legal documents and correspondence with a view to provide advice and support regarding file management.
  • Manage Crown Law's contact us inbox.
  • Maintain key dates using practice management software to ensure legal requirements are met.
  • Keep and maintain a registry of all legal documents served on the State of Queensland through the Crown Solicitors office.
  • Manage and distribute the daily mail for the branch.
  • Provide expert advice across the practice, to legal staff and to various stakeholders regarding the acceptance of service requirements and client standing arrangements.
  • Coordinate the processing of originating material served on the State of Queensland and ensure compliance with Court requirements and client Service Level Agreements
  • Assist with contingency liability reporting.
  • Assist with collating annual questions on notice preparation for Crown Law.
  • Manage Branch adherence to Departmental, Crown Law, and Litigation procedures and policies and liaise with appropriate authorities in the resolution of problems.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external professional networks.
  • Work in collaboration with all areas of the practice to provide a high level of service to clients.
  • Proactively consult and liaise with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external in the provision of services and resolution of problems.
  • In consultation, develop and implement comprehensive legal and administrative policies and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in special projects as required.
  • Where required, work across various teams and branches in Crown Law.
  • Other duties as required.
