First established in QLD in 2022, Your Life Your Words is a bespoke memoir writing service also operating in NSW, ACT and WA. We are currently expanding our pool of writers across ALL of NSW. We’re keen to hear from Sydneysiders, but we’d also love to hear from you if you reside in the Central West such as Orange, Cowra or Forbes. Perhaps you’re in northern NSW, anywhere from Newcastle, Armidale to Byron Bay. We have assignments currently available in Dee Why and Port Macquarie with others from all over the NSW region so we’d love you to join us from wherever you are.

We are seeking applications from creative writers with at least 5 years of demonstrated experience in writing non-fiction - longer form, narrative work.

This is a very personal, one-on-one role so we need more than excellent writers; we need special people who have an innate way of tapping into the essence of a person’s soul, their life, their story.

You will visit clients in their home and compose their life stories into a polished memoir. You must have advanced listening skills and ability to draw out story content. If you think you’ve heard a bit of gold dust, we want you to encourage the client to share the gold nugget.

To become part of a wonderful pool of Executive Writers to service assignments within NSW you must possess:

A very confident, compassionate and personable disposition

Strong interviewing and probing skills

Excellent note taking experience

Experience using audio recorders

An empathetic nature

Finely tuned listening skills

Advanced skills with WORD - presentations and formatting

Confidence with recording videos

Reliable transport

· Your Bio - a single page profile with a photograph and indication of the suburb you live in and the areas you could visit client in

· Two examples of your non-fiction writing skills – no less than 800 words.

· Any other examples that you can provide that demonstrate your talent as a non-fiction writer.
