About the role

Hampers and Gifts Australia Pty Ltd, a leading provider of high-quality hampers and gifts, is seeking an Inventory Assistant to join our team in Regents Park, NSW. The Inventory Assistant supports business-wide inventory control processes, along with driving efficient execution of day-to-day activities in our warehouse. The Inventory Assistant will be responsible for the physical management of inventory throughout the warehouse, as well as ensuring the integrity of stock levels and inventory transactions within the system. Due to the seasonality of our business, supervisory responsibilities of casuals are required during the peak season.

What you'll be doing

Inbound receiving and put away, maintaining accurate records both physically and systematically in our enterprise software (esuite) and other applications.

Supporting effective inventory management, including stock takes and cycle counts, monitoring use-by-dates, and ensuring First-In-First-Out usage.

Replenish pick faces and transfer inventory between warehouses to enable efficient pick/pack operations.

Prepare bulk orders for dispatch and assist with picking & packing e-commerce parcels as volumes require.

Ensure the warehouse environment is safe, clean, and well-organised by performing light housekeeping, emptying balers, and reporting hazards and damages.

Contributing to the continuous improvement of inventory and warehouse operations by identifying, reporting, and resolving any operational issues or bottlenecks.

Coordinating and supervising the work of casual labour during our peak season in the months leading up to Christmas.

What we're looking for

Minimum 3 years of experience in an inventory or warehouse role.

Experience operating warehouse equipment. Forklift licenced or willing to obtain a licence.

Interest and ability to supervise casuals, including training, directing activities, and holding them accountable for work and safety.

High level of attention to detail, accuracy, process, and organisation.

Well-developed computer skills, comfortable with Microsoft applications and Enterprise software.

Resilient and positive attitude when working in a fast-paced, high-pressure, challenging environment.

A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with team members

Ability to problem-solve and troubleshoot, with a mindset for process improvement and cost reduction
