Northerlies Beach Bar and Grill is a premier dining destination located in tropical Airlie Beach, Queensland. The venue consists of brasserie restaurant dining, an outdoor beachside kitchen, and 3x bars with an overall capacity of 750 seats.

We are seeking a talented Chef to join our experienced kitchen team.

As a Sous Chef, you will:

Have an opportunity to utilise your management and organisational skills.

Bring a high level of kitchen management skills to help lead, develop and recruit for the team.

Assist the Executive Chef and Restaurant Team with the day-to-day running of the kitchen, stock ordering, and menu development - weekly specials included, incorporating seasonal fresh local produce..

Have a passion for creating delicious, expertly prepared, cooked, and presented food.

Keep an organised kitchen and uphold a food safety program to assist in maintaining the kitchen, food, and hygiene standards.

Can demonstrate and advise with food preparation techniques and cooking procedures.

Demonstrate the ability to preserve, freeze and store foods safely.

Assist in motivating and supervising while ensuring quality and consistency in working towards establishing the venue as an industry leader.

Applicants must:

Hold a qualification of an Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.

or at least a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the same role.

Demonstrate motivation, commitment, and attention to detail

Effective communication skills with a growth mindset to continually learn and improve.

Thrive in a high-volume and high-pressure environment.
