The opportunity

The Community & Stakeholder Engagement Advisor (Greenfield) is required to work with the Strategic Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to effectively implement community and stakeholder engagement plans relating to Greenfields Projects.

Greenfield Projects are the responsibility of the Greenfield Projects team who lead the establishment of GMCT's undeveloped sites through master and precinct planning, design of infrastructure, facilities and inventory, construction and activation.

The role is responsible for working with the Strategic Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to develop annual stakeholder and community engagement plans (and related communication requirements) relating to Greenfields projects. A key requirement of the role is to proactively implement the defined plans and report progress as required.

At peak times the role will also be required to contribute to the implementation of Operational and Strategic Engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities include but not limited to

  • As required, work with the Strategic Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager to establish a Strategic Community and Stakeholder Engagement Framework that details the organisation’s approach to engagement, aligned to the strategic plan and Board endorsed strategies.
  • With oversight of the Strategic Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, proactively lead the implementation of annual community and stakeholder engagement plans for Greenfields projects – including Harkness, Plenty Valley and any other greenfield projects.
  • Contribute to the planning of the quarterly Community Advisory Committee Meetings as required to ensure Greenfields Projects are accurately represented and benefit from committee insights. Attend and present at meetings as required.
  • Proactively and independently develop high quality content and key communications (both internal and external) related to engagement initiatives in alignment with the defined GMCT brand strategy/tone of voice and collaborating with the Communications Team for review only.
  • In conjunction with the Strategic Community & Stakeholder Engagement Manager, proactively manage all digital assets or areas of digital assets that relate to Greenfields Project Engagement Priorities to ensure that information is up to date and that the assets are being fully leveraged.
  • Manage and report on success criteria and budgets assigned to key engagement initiatives as required.
  • Work collaboratively within the Engagement Team, the Customer Directorate and across the organisation, presenting a positive and proactive approach and a continuous improvement mindseA

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in a related discipline (essential)
  • Demonstrated community/stakeholder engagement experience (minimum 3 years)
  • IAP2 Certification
  • Qualifications and/or clearly demonstratable experience in communications and project management
  • Proven capability to effectively and efficiently implement multi-initiative engagement plans, involving a diverse range of stakeholders/communities
  • The ability to contribute to the development, and independently implement, high level strategic and operational engagement plans
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated ability to engage collaboratively across the organisation, including influencing peers, senior leaders and executives
  • Cultural and political awareness and sensitivity
  • The ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks
  • Demonstrated experience reporting on success criteria and budgets assigned to key engagement initiatives.
