About the role
What we are looking for: a Technical and Venue Operations Lead – an exciting opportunity to combine your technical expertise, people leadership, and creative problem-solving skills to support exhibitions, theatre productions, community events, and more across our vibrant cultural and community spaces.
· A background in technical theatre, event production, or exhibition install – ideally with 3+ years in a leadership or coordination role.
· In-depth knowledge of AV systems, lighting, sound, and venue operations.
· Demonstrated experience in managing the end-to-end delivery of both exhibitions and live productions.
· Strong leadership skills, with the ability to build and support a high-functioning technical team.
· Excellent stakeholder engagement, planning, and organisational capabilities.
· A proactive, hands-on approach to operational management and customer service excellence.
· An understanding of WHS, licensing, and risk management in venue settings.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the following:

· Leading the delivery of top-tier technical services and smooth operations across a diverse venue portfolio.
· Overseeing technical production for exhibitions, theatre shows, events, and community functions.
· Managing a high-performing technical operations team – mentoring, supervising, and supporting staff development.
· Ensuring venues are technically equipped, safe, and professionally presented at all times.
· Liaising with artists, hirers, and partners to scope and deliver complex technical requirements.
· Driving continuous improvement strategies that enhance customer service and technical delivery.
· Coordinating venue infrastructure maintenance, AV systems, and security protocols.
· Managing project budgets, procurement, and operational plans to align with strategic goals.
