About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Community Services organisation as an Assistant Accountant. This is an initial 12-month fixed-term position with a view to permanent ongoing arrangement at the end the fixed term. The role will be based in Epping, VIC.

What you'll be doing

Support the Finance team with a wide range of financial and accounting duties

Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports

Contribute to the maintenance of the general ledger and chart of accounts

Process invoices, receipts and payments in a timely manner

Participate in internal and external audits as required

Provide administrative support to the team as needed

What we're looking for

Minimum 2 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar role

Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, practices and procedures

Strong proficiency with MYOB, Xero or similar accounting software

Keen attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure

Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

Relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting or Finance
