About the Opportunity
This critical position is responsible for leading and supporting risk management initiatives, emergency management, and insurance functions to ensure legislative compliance and best practice in a local government setting. This includes supervising staff, coordinating Council’s insurance and claims processes, developing risk management and emergency management strategies, and overseeing business continuity planning. The role also involves supporting the Manager Governance in strategic governance, planning and quality assurance across these areas.

What you will bring
Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:

- Relevant tertiary qualification or a lesser formal qualification with extensive experience within a similar field

- Highly developed knowledge and experience of the local government operating environment

- Well developed analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills

Salary and conditions

The position is classified within Band 7 of Council’s Current Enterprise Agreement ranging from $104,988 to $117,480 per annum plus statutory superannuation.
