Key competencies (role specific criteria)
You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated or ability to acquire pathology laboratory and/or mortuary experience with proven ability to follow procedures and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after instruction.
- Demonstrated reliability, integrity and professional attitude necessary for a medico-legal and potentially hazardous workplace including an understanding of relevant legislation and guidelines and their application to a mortuary
- Demonstrated experience or ability to acquire experience in the interpretation of coronial/mortuary/pathology paperwork together with the ability to effectively use or learn to use the relevant LIS (Laboratory Information System eg. Auslab).
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with multiple stakeholders to meet client expectations, and the ability to work in a team and contribute positively to team outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively maintain a safe, secure and clean mortuary environment and an understanding of and willingness to contribute to the relevant systems, processes and procedures.
- Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
