Reporting to the CSR and Mortuary Manager, you will perform general laboratory duties, including the receipt of specimens and registration of requests into the laboratory information system (basic keyboard/data entry skills).

What you'll do

• Adherence to Pathology Queensland patient identification, labelling, collecting and processing policies at all times.
• Maintenance of the laboratory environment including cleaning and restocking of consumables.
• Prioritise tasks in order to meet service delivery deadlines.
• Respond to enquiries and instruction by clients by demonstrating effective communication skills.

About you

We are searching for someone with:

• Demonstrated experience in the interpretation of request forms, data entry and of the correct procedures for specimen processing.
• High level interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively and work productively in a team environment.
• Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.
• Demonstrated experience of the correct procedures for the performance of laboratory tests including processing and setting up techniques within the department.
• Ability to actively participate in a working environment supporting quality human resource management practices including employment equity, anti-discrimination, occupational health and safety and ethical behaviour.
