Informatech are seeking an experienced Defence Solutions Architect to play a pivotal role in supporting the governance, compliance and technical assurance of Defence ICT operations. This role is focused on enhancing ICT infrastructure strategy, with a key emphasis on data centre modernisation.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and deliver briefs to governance forums, highlighting risks, progress, and roadblocks.

Provide architectural oversight and governance aligned with Defence’s Technology Assurance Framework (TAF).

Build strong working relationships across internal and external Defence stakeholders.

Negotiate outcomes within a multi-vendor IT environment to support Defence interests.

Review and enhance data centre strategy documents, roadmaps and management practices.

Identify gaps in current data centre frameworks, with a focus on hybrid models (on-prem and hyperscaler).

Lead modernisation efforts to align with best practices, policies and standards.

Provide strategic leadership on data centre lifecycle management and platform architecture.

Required Experience

Extensive experience in ICT architecture within complex and large-scale projects in Defence.

Proven track record delivering ICT transformation programs in Federal Government or Defence.

Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline.

Industry certifications and frameworks in architecture, assurance or infrastructure governance.

Experience with hybrid data centre environments and hyperscaler integration.

Strong communication skills to bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution.

Australian Citizenship and an active NV2 clearance are required for this role.
