The Opportunity
Due to the continued growth of our project portfolio, we are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineering Technologist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in the development and application of engineering technologies across a range of renewable energy projects, particularly in the areas of mechanical design, equipment layout, thermal management systems, and structural support. Key Responsibilities
· Develop and implement mechanical engineering methods and technologies to enhance system performance, reliability, and maintainability.
· Support planning, installation, commissioning, and quality assurance activities related to mechanical systems on-site.
· Conduct inspections, troubleshoot faults, and diagnose issues in mechanical components and systems.
· Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and clients to integrate new mechanical technologies and implement system improvements.
· Maintain maintenance schedules, defect tracking systems, and technical documentation.
· Perform testing, performance analysis, and validation to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
· Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by analysing operational data and recommending design or maintenance enhancements.
· Ensure all work complies with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards.
About You
· Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related field.
· Minimum of five years’ experience as a mechanical engineering technologist in the renewable energy sector.
· Possess extensive experience in the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to technical detail.
· Effective communicator with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
· Willingness to work on-site as well as in the office as required.
