The Role
· Lead a dynamic team responsible for shaping the Western Australian Government’s long-term strategic direction for the resources sector
· Anticipate emerging challenges and opportunities, guide the development of forward-thinking policies and legislation
· Deliver high-impact advice to senior executives and the Minister on complex, resource-related issues
· Translate economic and geopolitical trends into actionable strategies
· Oversee critical functions including strategic royalties, regulatory frameworks, economic and statistical analysis, and evidence-based policy development
· Ensure the Department remains forward-looking and responsive to the evolving needs of the resource economy.
