Launch are seeking an experienced Security Engineer for a fixed term contract engagement focused on strengthening the cloud security posture. This role offers an opportunity to make significant impact on the security infrastructure while working with a highly collaborative team.

Start date: need to be able to start 1 - 2 weeks after offer
Day Rate: $1100 per day

Role and Requirements

* Lead specific cloud security initiatives aligned with our current strategic priorities, delivering tangible security improvements within defined timelines.
* Provide expert guidance on cloud security architecture across targeted projects and workstreams
* Implement advanced security controls and remediate identified vulnerabilities in our AWS environment
* Create documentation and knowledge transfer materials to ensure sustainability of security improvements
* Collaborate with permanent team members to enhance existing security frameworks and processes

Required Skills and Experience

* 5+ years of hands-on security engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in AWS security
* Proven track record delivering security projects with measurable results in previous consulting roles
* Advanced knowledge of AWS security services and concepts e.g. CloudTrail, SecurityHub, GuardDuty, IAM, SCP's, Multi-account architecture.
* Ability to quickly assess technical environments and recommend and implement practical, effective security solutions.
* Experience working within agile development environments and collaborating across organizational boundaries.
* Strong documentation skills and experience with knowledge transfer to permanent staff
* Self-directed work style with the ability to deliver results with minimal supervision

Experience and Qualifications

* Professional information security and/or cloud platform related certifications a plus.
* Experience working in a DevOps environment on AWS platforms and services.
* Expertise with infrastructure-as-code and security automation tools
* Extensive knowledge of threat modelling approaches, internet security issues and threat landscape.
