We’re seeking a Therapeutic Specialist to join our Therapeutic and Allied Health team, a pivotal clinical leadership role delivering targeted, evidence-informed supports to children and young people across Gippsland.

About the Role

As a Therapeutic Specialist – Residential Care, you’ll lead the development and implementation of individualised therapeutic support plans for young people impacted by trauma.

Your role will include:

Supporting risk and safety planning and using psychometric tools in line with best practice

Contributing to a trauma-informed, psychologically safe environment in therapeutic residential care settings

What You’ll Be Part Of

The Therapeutic and Allied Health team delivers supports to children, young people, adults and families using an evidence-informed framework. Everything we do is underpinned by our belief that recovery is possible, and that environments built on safety, connection and purpose foster healing.

You’ll work closely with carers, case managers, therapeutic practitioners, and professionals across the care system; all committed to consistent, compassionate, and coordinated care.

✅ Key Selection Criteria (must be addressed in your application)

A relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline and relevant experience to this role. (ESSENTIAL)

An understanding of the developmental needs of children and young people, with an ability to apply this knowledge effectively when providing therapeutic support.

Highly developed communication skills and demonstrated ability to provide leadership and direct service in the clinical assessment of young people and their families.

Demonstrated knowledge of trauma, attachment and neurobiology frameworks and theories.

Demonstrated ability to provide secondary consultation and advice to other professionals.

Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external service providers.
