Role Overview
Flinders Port Holdings Civil and Construction team is experiencing an exciting period of growth. With major projects underway and continued investment in new equipment, we’re expanding our capability.
This growth has created an opportunity for two Civil Team Leaders. The Civil Team Leader is responsible for coordinating and supervising the day-to-day delivery of civil maintenance and civil capital projects across Flinders Ports sites.
This role supports the Civil Supervisor in ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the civil team in the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance and capital works across Flinders Ports sites;
Act as a hands-on leader by participating in daily tasks, including tool use and operation of civil equipment;
Conduct daily toolbox meetings and pre-start briefings to communicate work plans and safety priorities;
Collaborate with the Civil Supervisor to plan tasks, allocate resources, and report on project progress;
Promote safety by identifying hazards, managing contractors, and fostering a positive safety culture; and
Provide guidance to team members, coordinate materials and subcontractors, and ensure timely completion of work orders and records.
About you
Your skills and experience will include;
Certificate III in Civil Construction or significant civil experience;
White Card and valid Driver’s Licence;
Essential licences - excavator, front end loader, skid steer, and HR or HC licence, with ability to obtain others as needed;
Proven experience managing contractors, service providers, and directing work groups;
Previous experience in a leadership or supervisor role;
Sound knowledge of civil maintenance and construction principles;
Strong computer skills and experience with computer-based technology;
Previous hands-on experience with civil trades, civil contractors, and construction/maintenance plant operation.
