The new Midwifery Annualised Salary Agreement (MASA) agreement commenced 30 June 2025 and attracts a 40% annualisation loading for caseload midwives - the equal highest rate in Australia.

The annual salary for a WACHS Endorsed Midwife, dependent on your qualification, is between $197,192 and $199,943 p.a. pro rata

About the OPPORTUNITY

This role provides advanced holistic, evidence-based midwifery assessment, diagnosis, care and intervention to pregnant people and families within the scope of practice of an Endorsed Midwife in a Caseload model (known as Midwifery Group Practice). The role is responsible for the utilisation of human, financial and material resources in a Caseload Model.

To be successful in this role, you will have…

  • An endorsement for scheduled medicines for midwives with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Advanced clinical experience, knowledge and leadership in midwifery care across the continuum in a caseload model utilising the Australian College of Midwives National Midwifery Guidelines for Consultation and Referral.
  • Well-developed clinical problem-solving skills including conceptual and analytical ability.
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal and written communication skills including negotiation skills.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislative and health regulating Acts including legislative obligations relating to midwifery practice.
  • Experience in quality improvement, its practical application in family centred care and its relationship to strategic development.
  • Demonstrated digital capability to enable access and use of available technology for safe patient care and information availability.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months.
