Are you an experienced nursing professional with a strong background in human resources? Join the Western Australian Country Health Service as a Nurse Specialist - HR and make a significant impact on the nursing and midwifery establishment. In this pivotal role, you will coordinate the recruitment, appointment, and retention of nursing staff while ensuring high-quality patient care across the Goldfields region.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support the maintenance of nursing and midwifery establishment by coordinating staff recruitment and resignations.
· Liaise with clinical managers to facilitate forward planning in nursing recruitment.
· Maintain oversight of NHpPD data to inform staffing decisions across all areas in the Goldfields.
· Participate in grievance and disciplinary procedures, contributing to a supportive working environment.
· Assist in policy development and provide expert advice to facilitate organisational change and efficiency.
Ideal Candidate:
· A qualified nurse with extensive post-registration management experience.
· Strong understanding of industrial relations, including Awards/EBA’s and grievance procedures.
· Proven ability to demonstrate high-level communication and interpersonal skills, including mediation.
· Relevant experience with HR processes and Health Support Services (HSS).
· Post Graduate Qualification in a relevant discipline or progression towards is desirable.

This position is located at the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. Kalgoorlie is Australia’s largest Outback city where mining, history and bushland combine, located 595 km east-northeast of Perth.

Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program:
The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at eligible locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months. Area Profile:
The Goldfields region of the WA Country Health Service covers the Goldfields-Esperance Region of Western Australia. The region is located in the south eastern corner of Western Australia and covers 770,488 sq km (including offshore islands). The WA Country Health Service Goldfields consists of two main health campuses located in Kalgoorlie & Esperance, and three smaller hospitals located in Laverton, Leonora, and Norseman. The Goldfields is a culturally rich region with a number of Aboriginal communities spread out across the region, 16 distinct Aboriginal language groups and an Aboriginal population that represents 12.3 per cent of our total population, with 1 in 10 people, on average, identifying as Aboriginal – this in comparison to the state average of 3.6 per cent. The region supports a wide range of industry, including mining, agriculture, aquaculture, and tourism. Mining is the predominant sector in the central and northern parts of the region, with a well-established agricultural sector in the south.
