Epilepsy Queensland is seeking an enthusiastic and outcomes-driven Peer Support Coordinator & Epilepsy Educator to join our dedicated Living Well Team. This dynamic role offers the opportunity to coordinate and expand peer-led support initiatives, while also delivering high-quality education to individuals, families, and sector professionals—ultimately improving the lives of those impacted by epilepsy
🌱 Your Role in a Nutshell
As the Peer Support Coordinator, you will:
Lead the planning, delivery, and improvement of inclusive, accessible peer-led support initiatives
Recruit, train and mentor a team of volunteer facilitators
Build strong community connections, particularly with underrepresented groups
Monitor, evaluate and report on outcomes and impact
As the Epilepsy Educator, you will:
Deliver engaging epilepsy education to individuals, families, and service providers
Tailor training based on Epilepsy Management Plans
Promote awareness, inclusion, and understanding across health, disability, education, and community sectors
✅ What You’ll Need
Tertiary qualifications in community services, social work, counselling, psychology or a related health discipline
Excellent communication and facilitation skills, including group-based education (face to face and virtual) and stakeholder engagement.
Experience in co-design and peer-led practice frameworks
High level of digital literacy including CRM systems and Microsoft Office
Commitment to human rights, inclusion, and continuous improvement
Current driver’s licence with minimal regional travel
Capacity for occasional after-hours work, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
