Talent International is searching for an experienced System Administrator to join our Queensland Government client based in Brisbane CBD on a 6-Month Initial Contract, with strong extension potential.

The role:
This technical position sits within the Information Technology Services Branch and plays a key role in supporting departmental system and user migrations, infrastructure optimisation, and operational support across a large and complex ICT environment. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team supporting the digital transformation of core justice services across Queensland.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate capacity planning and optimisation of departmental server and HCI environments (Nutanix)
• Monitor, manage, and report on infrastructure performance, including future roadmap planning
• Deliver patching, vulnerability management, and lifecycle support of the department's Managed Operating Environment
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to infrastructure staff
• Oversee incident management, problem resolution, and change control processes
• Manage vendor support relationships across infrastructure and cloud services
• Contribute to documentation, governance reporting, and internal capability uplift

Requirements:

• Strong technical expertise in Hyper Converged Infrastructure (e.g., Nutanix)
• In-depth experience with Microsoft Server, Azure, AOVPN, RDS/Windows 365, SCCM, Intune, and Autopilot
• Proficiency in scripting, certificate management, and modern workplace solutions
• Demonstrated experience in ITIL-based environments and tools such as ServiceNow
• Proven ability to lead and support hybrid environments (on-prem and cloud)
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Relevant IT certifications in Microsoft or Nutanix technologies highly desirable
