We are a specialist ophthalmic day surgery located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, seeking a Receptionist to be the warm and professional face of our organisation.

About the Role

In this key front-of-house position, you’ll ensure patients, carers, and visitors feel welcomed, supported, and well-informed from the moment they arrive. You’ll also assist in coordinating the day-to-day flow of our surgical and administrative processes.

Key responsibilities:

Greeting and checking in patients and visitors

Answering phone and email enquiries professionally and promptly

Managing appointment bookings and patient records

Liaising with clinical staff, surgeons, and external providers

Processing patient payments and handling Medicare/private health claims

Ensuring a high standard of privacy, accuracy, and efficiency

About You

We’re looking for a calm, reliable, and proactive individual who thrives in a clinical or healthcare setting.

You will have:

Prior experience as a medical receptionist (day surgery or ophthalmology ideal)

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Strong attention to detail and time management

Competence using patient management systems and general office software

Understanding of health fund and Medicare billing (desirable)

A compassionate and professional approach to patient care
