CD Management Pty Ltd, trading as RONG SICHUAN, is a well-established boutique Chinese restaurant offering full table service with a focus on authentic Sichuan cuisine. We are proud to be a trusted local favourite, known for our high-quality food and attentive service. Due to strong business growth and ongoing operational needs, we are seeking to strengthen our kitchen team.

We are currently seeking an experienced full-time Chef for our vibrant restaurant located in Shop 1/140 Cotham Rd, Kew VIC 3101 to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and develop Sichuan-style menus, estimate food and labour costs, and ensure seasonal and customer-preferred offerings.

Supervise and participate in the preparation and cooking of authentic Sichuan dishes using traditional methods, ingredients, and spice combinations.

Monitor the quality, portioning, and presentation of all dishes to uphold the restaurant’s high standards.

Ensure proper use and maintenance of kitchen equipment and regulate cooking temperatures.

Manage food inventory, place orders for ingredients, and liaise with suppliers to ensure consistent quality.

Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

Train and guide junior kitchen staff, providing hands-on support and feedback during service.

Collaborate with management to adjust dishes based on customer feedback and seasonal availability.

Skills & Experience Required:

AQF Diploma or higher qualification is required.

At least 3 years of relevant work experience as a chef, preferably with a focus on Sichuan or other Chinese regional cuisines.

In-depth understanding of Sichuan cooking techniques, spice handling, and traditional dish composition.

Strong organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Leadership capability and a willingness to mentor junior staff.

Solid knowledge of food safety standards and compliance practices.

Flexibility to work across a 7-day roster including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team..
